Report: Aaron Nola Re-Signs with Phillies for Seven Years

Longtime rotational piece Aaron Nola is back, as news broke Sunday afternoon that the Phillies would be re-signing him to a mega extension. The deal, worth 172 million over seven years, is the richest contract the club has ever given out to a pitcher, according to Jeff Passan.

Given the state of the starting pitching market, this is a good piece of business for the Phils. The money is nonessential at this point, as the team is competing for a championship. Nola can still take on a ton of innings and has been a top-end starter his entire career.

They could do worse.

On Sunday, the Sixers’ elite duo did it again, this time in Brooklyn against the Nets. Embiid once again went for 32 points once again and added 12 rebounds. Maxey, on the other hand, dropped 25 points and collected 10 assists. For more on the Sixers season, check out the latest Drunk on the Court here.

Are the Flyers better than we anticipated this season? We’ll have to check back in at the quarter mark to see.
