Jeff Stoutland Steps Away From Eagles
On Tuesday, longtime Eagles offensive line coach announced that he would not be returning to the Eagles coaching staff next season. His duties will be handed over to Ryan Mahaffey, who was hired a day after Stoutland made his announcement. Obviously, it appears that Nick Sirianni is comfortable allowing new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion autonomy in selecting his staff and build his own offense, but with that said, Stoutland will be missed. As you may remember, former Eagles lineman Jason Kelce often spoke highly of the OL coach, crediting Stoutland with correcting his game.
This perhaps is Stoutland’s biggest contribution with the birds that we saw pay big dividends. Nevertheless, it’s a new regime with fresh faces and ideas in Philadelphia. Time will tell if that’s a good thing or not.
Embiid, Sixers Outshine Suns 109-103
On Saturday, the Sixers picked up a their third win on their West Coast road trip with a 109-103 victory over Phoenix. It was a vintage night for Joel Embiid in the win, as the big man had 33 points and nine rebounds. Tyrese Maxey, on the other hand, added 29 points, nine boards and six assists. The win also represented the Sixers 30th of the season.
They’ll finish up their trip Monday night when they head to Portland to meet Damien Lillard and the Trail Blazers.
