Eagles LB Myles Jack Retires

This past weekend, recent signee Myles Jack has decided to retire. The news comes as a shock, considering Jack signed earlier this month after being released from the Steelers. Jack said his release led him to think about going to trade school to become an electrician or a plumber in his post-football life.

Sixers to Lose Another Star?

As we continue to monitor the James Harden saga, the rumors of Joel Embiid’s displeasure have also bubbled to the surface as well. According to Vince Goodwill, there is a league wide belief that Embiid may be on his way out of Philadelphia sooner ‘rather than later.’

Embiid’s proven his worth to the Sixers, but if he really prefers to move on from Philly, that very much feels like a loser move by the former MVP. To quit on the Sixers now would be a real tough blow to the organization; and to a fanbase that’s supported him through thick and thin?

Hard to believe, Harry.

Phillies Drop 2-of-3 to Lowly Nationals; For Grandma Grace’s Team

The Phils really struggled in their weekend series with the Nationals, dropping 2-of-3 with Washington in D.C. They’ll play host to the Giants in a battle between two teams jockeying for position in the NL WildCard race. The series begins tonight at 6:40 p.m.

More importantly today, it’s with deep sadness that I share that my Grandmother, Grace – the biggest Phils fan I know – passed away this morning from a battle with cancer.

I chose to share this because it’s therapeutic in a way.

I think of all the times that I would take the ride with my Father on weekends to her apartment in Manayunk. The afternoon Phils game would always be on and I’d sit and watch while she made Spanish coffee for the adults. She loved them and so did her Mother, Celina. I did that countless weekends as a teen and cherished it. Rooting on the Fightins with Gram and getting to hang with family that I normally didn’t get to see otherwise.

The last moment we shared together was letting her know that I was engaged. I’ll remember that forever.  We took this picture a week before she passed away.

As an adult, I realize how important those moments were now. And I miss them and miss her.

Rest in peace, Grandma Grace. No more pain.
