Eagles Make 10 Selections in NFL Draft

The NFL Draft wrapped up this past weekend, and the Eagles welcomed 10 new players to the organization. The picks are as followed:

Round 1, LB Jihaad Campbell, Alabama
Round 2, S Andrew Mukuba, Texas
Round 4, DT Ty Robinson, Nebraska
Round 5, CB Mac McWilliams, Central Florida
Round 5, LB Smael Mondon, Georgia
Round 5, C/G Drew Kendall, Boston College
Round 6, QB Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Round 6, T Myles Hinton, Michigan
Round 6, T Cameron Williams, Texas
Round 6, OLB Antwaun Powell-Ryland, Virginia Tech

Some worries about injury history had Campbell fall to the Eagles’ laps, but make no mistake, he is a top 15 talent on the merit of his skill. It also appears the birds picked up a fantastic athlete in Ty Robinson of Nebraska as well. Robinson will join Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis to help round out the Eagles defensive line, especially now that Milton Williams headed for greener pastures this off-season and Brandon Graham has retired.

Additionally, Howie Roseman and company deserve the benefit of the doubt here. They’ve obviously done an excellent job assembling championship caliber football teams.

Phillies Gut out Back to back wins against Cubs

The Phillies offense sputtered in the opening game of the series, but went on to burst through with a 10-run victory in game two. Led by a three hit day from Max Kelper, the fightins bats broke through with a six run fourth inning in the win.

In the series finale Sunday, Aaron Nola went seven solid innings on the mound and the Phillies picked up the win in extra innings. Moreover, Philly reliver Jordan Romano picked up the save after struggling in his few outings as well. This is critical for both pitchers because neither have looked their best of late.

With a day off Monday, the Phils will get back to it on Tuesday, when they begin a three game series with the Nationals.
