Phillies Fall in Finale to Cardinals; Lose Marsh

The Phillies couldn’t sweep St. Louis on Sunday night in extra innings, as Fightins fell 5-4. Taijuan Walker turned in another poor performance while the situational hitting, most notably with runners in scoring position, wasn’t up to snuff either. That’s okay; the Phils just previous ending an eight game winning streak and have been playing great ball for awhile now. However, the club is now getting some adversity.

On Saturday, Ranger Suárez’s took a 106.1 mph line drive on his pitching hand. The 28-year-old Venezuelan was diagnosed with a left hand contusion and the X-rays were negative. Then on Sunday, Brandon Marsh left the game in the 8th inning with a hamstring injury.

A little adversity won’t hurt anyone. But now, we wait for some updates.

Report: Sixers Would Like to Re-Sign Vets

According to Keith Pompey, the Sixers will likely try and bring back Nico Batum, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Kyle Lowry this summer. Despite the reported aggressive by general manager Daryl Morey in finding a big name to pair with Embiid and Maxey, Philly will need depth too. Batum and Oubre had their moments of production this season and shouldn’t be too expensive to sign.

Remember: Philly Sixers could have close to $65 million available in free agency. The team also has a first-round pick (No. 16) and a second-rounder (41) in the NBA draft on June 26th and 27th to add to future deals as well.

NFL to Make Ruling on Eagles Tampering Case

According to Adam Schefter, the NFL will make a ruling on the Eagles tampering case this week. The Eagles have been investigated for the contact they may or may not have had with free agent running back Saquon Barkley.

Philly has denied violating the rule.
