Ramos Roundup Part 33: “Reddick” or Not Here We Come?

The Ramos roundup is a weekly Philadelphia Sports column highlighting all the pertinent news of the week featuring the Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, and Union.

Report: Eagles’ Reddick Linked to Cardinals, Falcons

According to BleacherReport.com, the Eagles will have potential suitors should they trade pass rusher Hassan Reddick in the Arizona Cardinals or Atlanta Falcons. Back in February, Reddick told insider Jordan Schultz that he was not interested in leaving Philadelphia and would rather work on an extension. Many people were under the assumption, however, that with Josh restricting his contract and the signing of Bryce Huff, Reddick is likely the odd man out.

Sixers Silence Harden, Clippers

Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey and Cam Payne all dropped 20-point performances in the Sixers win on Sunday. Philly visited former teammate James Harden in the contest and did an excellent job containing him. The former much-maligned Harden went for 12 points, 14 assists and went 0-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Bittersweet win for Philly.

Union Pick Up Their First Win in MLS Play

Julián Carranza tallied twice, while Oliver Semmle filled in admirably for Andre Blake and made seven saves in the Union’s first win in MLS play this year. This was a welcome site; since the Union’s appearance in the 2024 Concacaf Champions League Round of 16, Philly has found difficulty in closing games out. However, the win in Portland may have been their most complete performance of the season. Maybe it’ll help the club build some momentum.

The boys in blue return to action at home this coming Saturday, when they play host to Minnesota.

Flyers Collect Two Standings Points in Gauntlet Weekend

The Flyers continued to run their gauntlet against the Eastern Conference’s elite this past weekend. They picked a valuable two standings point s against the Bruins on Saturday, but fell to the Florida Panthers on Sunday. The Flyers have an opportunity to go .500 during this brutal stretch of games with a win over the Rangers on Tuesday night.

Baseball is Back!

Folks, baseball is upon us! This week, the Phillies will open their 2024 campaign with a visit from their division rival Braves.
