Flyers Fall to Devils in Stadium Series Showdown

In arguably the biggest game of the season to date, the Flyers had their margin of error in the Metropolitan division playoff race shrink with a regulation loss to the Devils on Saturday night. Despite goals from Tippett (times two) and Nick Seeler, Jersey goaltender Nico Daws made 45 saves in the Devils win. The Flyers have now fallen 1-4-1 in outdoor games and have allowed New Jersey within five points of the Flyers with two games in hand. This playoff race is far, far from over.

Sixers’ Maxey Represents at All Star Festivities

Tyrese Maxey posted 10 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 17 minutes played in the All Star game on Sunday night. Maxey was appearing in his first all star game and represented the city well.

Phillies Sign Whit Merrifield

A few days ago, the Phillies announced that they have signed super-utility man Whit Merrifield to a one-year deal. Merrifield, 35, hit .272 last season with the Blue Jays and should help boost the Phils depth. He can play all over the diamond and was an All-Star for the third time of his career last season.

Union Loan Brandan Craig To Locomotive FC; Begin Season Next Week

According to a press release, the Union announced that the club have loaned Homegrown defender Brandan Craig to El Paso Locomotive FC through 2024.

Craig signed a contract with the Union that became effective on January 1, 2021, making his debut against D.C. United on July 8, 2022. The former Union Academy player was previously sent out on loan to MLS side, Austin FC in 2023.

Internationally, Craig was selected for the U.S. Men’s Olympic Soccer Team roster in October of 2023 for their training camp in Phoenix, Arizona.

In team news, the Union are set to open up their 2024 campaign against the Chicago Fire FC on February 24th.
