Eagles to be Without A.J. Brown vs. Buccaneers
Yeah, so this is swell.
According to reports, the Eagles are expected to be without all-pro A.J. Brown due to a sprained knee. There’s injury-galore right now for the birds, all over the field. It doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence coming into this game. The team is likely to be without Reed Blankenship, and lost Sydney Brown for the rest of the season. Jalen Hurts is still mending an injury finger on his throwing hand. Devonta Smith and Darius Slay will play, but are still recovering from injuries as well. The team has been in total free-fall mode since they were punched in the mouth by San Francisco at the beginning of December.
It’s hard not to feel like Lloyd right now.
Nevertheless, Go birds I guess.
Sixers, Harris Beat Kings; Concern for Embiid?
Tobias Harris led the way for the Sixers with 37 points, seven rebounds and three assists to get Philly back in the win column on Friday night. Tyrese Maxey kept up his all-star caliber performance with 21 points, while Nico Batum, Pat Beverly and Mo Bamba added a little of everything as secondary contributors. The Sixers are now 24-13 and third in the Eastern Conference.
Moreover, the Sixers could be getting reigning MVP Joel Embiid back in the lineup after missing three games due to a knee injury. According to Austin Krell, Embiid was a full participant at practice on Sunday; perhaps a positive sign that he could play against the Rockets on Monday? We’ll see.
Flyers Stay White Hot, Pick-Up Wins in Back-to-Back
The Flyers headed out on a three game road-trip on Friday beginning in Minnesota. Philly gutted out an overtime win with goals from Joel Farabee (2X) and Owen Tippett. The following night, the Flyers then traveled all the way out to Winnipeg.
Sean Couturier and Jamie Drysdale did not suit up for the game, but next man up right? The Flyers went on to shutout the Central division-leading Jets with two goals from the struggling Cam Atkinson. Sam Ersson made 35 saves in the win as well.
We cover the Flyers extensively here and if you have been following along, this year has been filled with a multitude of positives for the orange and black. A playoff appearance, feels inevitable at this point. The Flyers are just four points behind the first place Rangers.
