Phillies Drop Game 7 Against Diamondbacks in NLCS
As of this writing, the World Series is underway with Game 3 set to take place on Monday evening. It will take place without the Phillies, however, as they lost the deciding game 7 to Arizona at home this past Tuesday night.
As if you didn’t know.
The loss was stunning, upsetting and somehow predictable all in one. A week prior, the Fightins had the city of Philadelphia on cloud 9 when they went up 2-0 in the series after beating the snakes 10-0 at the bank. What followed? Well, four losses in five games and in those said games, the Phils couldn’t muster up more than two runs in any of them.
Schwarber, Turner, Harper, Realmuto and Castellanos went 2-for-19 during that span as well. That says it all.
Additionally, the Phillies will enter the off-season with big decisions to make on Aaron Nola and Rhys Hoskins’ futures with the team. There’s still plenty to figure out here.
Union Jump Out to 1-0 Series Lead Over New England
With goals from Daniel Gadzag, Mikkel Uhre and Nathiel Harriel, hang on to defeat the Revolution in the best-of-3, opening round of the Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs. Game 2 is set for November 8th with a chance to move onto round 2 for Philly
Embiid Dominant in Sixers Home Opener Win
In the second game of a back-to-back, the Sixers discarded the Portland Trail Blazers handily Sunday night with their 126-98 win at the Wells Fargo Center. Philly has opened their season 2-1 and will be back in action on Thursday when they take on the Toronto Raptors.
Flyers Pumped 7-4 Against Ducks in Saturday Matinee
Despite a strong start season, the Flyers crashed back down to reality this weekend. Travis Konecny scored twice in the loss, while rookie Bobby Brink continued his impressive play with two assists.
Hurts Tosses Four Touchdowns in 38-31 Win at Commanders
With a bad knee and all, Jalen Hurts couldn’t be contained in Sunday’s divisional matchup between the Eagles and Commanders. The Eagles Quarterback threw for 319 yards as well, while A.J. Brown continued his historic season hauling in two touchdown passes in circus-like fashion. Brown became the first player in NFL history with 125-plus yards receiving in six consecutive games. It’s despite starting games rather slow, it’s been ho-hum for the birds. At 7-1, they remain the class of the NFC.
