Phillies Kick off Spring Training

Baseball is back folks, as the Phillies got to work against the Pirates on Sunday in a 4-3 grapefruit league loss. It didn’t take long for Kyle Schwarber to get back into the swing of things. In just the first inning, Schwarber belted a a 455-foot home run that cleared the right-field pavilion seats.

A number of starters got work Sunday along with Schwarber, including Trea Turner, Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm and J.T. Realmuto. Phillies will play the Washington Nationals tomorrow at 6:05 p.m.

Sixers Stop Four Game Skid, Beat Timberwolves 135-108

The Sixers’ fantastic guard duo of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe got Philly back in the win column in Minnesota. Maxey led the way with 39 points and eight assists, while Edgecombe added 24 points and seven rebounds in the victory. The Sixers will cap off a three-game road trip with a Tuesday matchup against the Pacers.

Sanheim Wins Silver, Ristolainen Wins Bronze at Olympics

This weekend marked the conclusion of the 2026 Winter Olympic games in Italy, with two Flyers’ players going home with medals. Defensemen Travis Sanheim settled for a silver medal in an instant classic with Team USA on Saturday. Team Canada largely carried play throughout the gold medal game, but it was Team USA that prevailed in the end, with the game winning goal coming from Jack Hughes. After Josh Morrissey went down with an injury in the tournament opener, Canada turned to Sanheim and he played solidly throughout.

Ristolainen, on the other hand, was a steady force for team Finland in the tournament. Ristolainen collected three assists in six games and was a plus nine across said games.

The Flyers will return to action on Wednesday, when they head to Washington to take on the Capitals. Puckdrop is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast locally on NBCSP.

Union Shutout by Baribo, D.C. United in MLS Season Opener

On Saturday, the Union kicked off their 2026 MLS campaign in the Nation’s Capital, falling to D.C. United 1-0. Former Union striker Tai Baribo scored the lone goal in the 23rd minute, despite Philadelphia holding a 13-7 shots advantage.

The Union return to Subaru Park on Thursday to face Force FC in the second leg of their Round One Concacaf Champions Cup series. The match will be begin at 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on FS2.
