No, this one was never really in question. The Eagles roll. AGAIN. And now? The birds are just one win away from the Super Bowl. Let’s wrap on the win:
According to Tobias Bass and The Athletics’ live blog, the Birds tied their largest playoff victory in franchise history with the Eagles’ 38-7 win over the Vikings in the 2017 NFC Championship game.
That year rings a bell, doesn’t it?
New York, on the other hand, were handed their worst defeat since the 1993 divisional round against the 49ers. They were pounced that day by San Fran 44-3.
Jalen Hurts remained efficient, and the Eagles opened the game with a resounding drive. Hurts would lead his team with a 5-for-5 for 68-yard start to the contest, capping off the drive with a 16-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dallas Goedert. The game never really felt as if it was in reach for the G-Men, even against this superior Eagles team and to put it mildly, that’s because it wasn’t. Really, Philly’s first half of football went without a blemish.
They nearly doubled up time of possession on the Giants with 20 minutes of possession time in the first half. The Eagles outgained the Giants 258-64. It was on cruise-control after that.
So, now we wait for either the 49ers or Cowboys and sure, these teams may pose more of a threat than the Giants did on Saturday.
The NFC runs through Philadelphia, though, in case you forgot and that was clear in this one.
