Jalen to the Rescue?

I am a person who admits when they are wrong. And so far through the first three weeks I have been wrong. This past week on the Phired Up Podcast I discussed with Dom and Mike the idea that maybe Jalen is that QB1 for years to come. The guy looks to have it all (so far) and he has a supporting cast that looks like they want him to win. Jalen has always had that innate leadership mentality, and if you look at my prior pieces I always made sure to include that in my work. But the guy has the “dawg” mentality right now.

I’m going to say it, I was a Carson Wentz guy. I was downright pissed off when Jalen was drafted because this was Carson’s team, and all of a sudden we became a “Quarterback Factory”. I thought that someone on the team had a personal agenda (Doug) against Carson and that they were setting the guy up for failure by drafting this 2nd round (could have been 3rd round) Quarterback that Nick Saban did not want at Alabama. A career running Quarterback who leaned heavily on his legs who then went and played for Lincoln Riley’s high scoring offense. He was a guy that I laughed at on the Wednesday before the draft and said maybe the Cowboys could use a backup.

Boy was I wrong again. Carson is on his 3rd team now and his latest loss came from a heroic game by #1. Jalen is stepping up in the pocket, he is making the throws, and he is using his legs as a last option. For some reason I feel like I am Trent Crimm from The Independent trying to find an out as to why this man should not be the Eagles QB moving forward. He carries the Philadelphia mentality, that gritty blue collar worker mentality. As much of a “dawg” as he is you also see the sensible and humble side. You see the guy that is going to pick his team up and carry them on his back. These are the attributes that I wish the aforementioned carried. Jalen wasn’t handed things when he was downgraded, he transferred out and built himself up again. He is a gamer and at this point in time the Eagles MVP

At this point in time I am going to heir or the side of good thoughts for Jalen albeit we are only on game four of the eighteen week season. I will continue to evaluate week to week but at this point give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I want Jalen to succeed and I want this team to have their guy. One thing I can let you know is that I will be watching every Sunday, and that there could possibly be a Hurts jersey arriving at the Lucia residence soon. As always GO BIRDS.
