Flyers update injury status of several key players

After dropping their seventh straight game on Monday to the Calgary Flames, Flyers General Manager Chuck Fletcher has updated the status of several of his key players. Here’s what we know now on the injuries:

  • Travis Konecny is expected to be out 10-14 days. Konecny was hurt in Boston a couple games ago and he appeared to have hurt his hand.

  • Wade Allison will miss the next 2-3 weeks of action. He suffered an injury during last Saturday’s afternoon tilt with Ottawa.

  • Cam Atkinson remains out of the lineup and is considered week to week. The veteran forward has not played at all this season.

  • The club also announced that Scott laughton is heading to injure reserve and miss the next two weeks of play. He suffered an upper body (a suspected concussion) after taking a big hit in Montreal this past weekend. The team has called up Jackson Cates, according to Kevin Durso.

  •  Sean Couturier, James van Riemsdyk, and prospect Bobby Brink remain on their timelines for return from surgery.

The Flyers will head to Washington to take on the Capitals on Wednesday night for a 7:30 puck drop.
