Joel Embiid has been ruled out indefinitely with a right orbital fracture and concussion, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Embiid, who was already playing with a torn ligament in his right thumb that will require surgery in the offseason, suffered the injury when Pascal Siakam elbowed him across the face with four minutes left in the fourth quarter of game six.
With the 76ers second round matchup against the Heat set to start on Monday, the injury is a massive blow to Philadelphia’s championship hopes. In the absence of Embiid, Sixers fans will be hoping that James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias will step up.
