LeBron Signs 2-year, $8M deal with Sixers
Finally, a decision has been made on where LeBron James will play next season. His choice? Philadelphia!
James, 41, is signing with the Sixers on a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option, he announced Friday. James also mentioned that this will be his “last decision,” indicating his last stop in his illustrious career will be with Philadelphia.
LeBron decision’s to sign with the Sixers bookends one of the most exciting off-seasons in recent memory for this franchise. In just a few months time, General Manager Mike Gansey, Bob Myers and Jameer Nelson completely changed the direction of a team that, at times, felt rudderless in the last few years.

Union Pick Up Consecutive Win
The Union took on the Seattle Sounders FC Saturday evening and came away with a 1-0 home victory. Forward Milan Iloski scored the lone goal of the contest for a fifth consecutive match in the 31st minute to give Philadelphia an early lead. Goalkeeper Andre Blake, on the other hand, picked up his second clean sheet of the season as well.
The Union will return to Subaru Park on Saturday, August 1st, when they take on Atlanta United FC. The match is set for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off and will be broadcast live on Apple TV.
Phillies Salvage Series with Yankees
After losing the first two contests of the series, the Phillies salvaged their three game set with the New York Yankees on Sunday with an 11-3 win. Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott combined for nine RBI in the victory, while Christopher Sanchez struck out six Yankee hitters across six innings.
The Phils desperately needed a win, as they were marred in a four-game losing streak prior to this game. They also need to find more ways to defeat teams currently in the playoff picture. According to Paul Casella, the Phillies are just 13-27 against the other 11 teams sitting in a playoff spot. Only the Rockies (14-30), Mets (14-30) and Royals (13-35) have worse records. For a team looking to compete for a championship in the fall, this must change and fast. Perhaps a big offensive outburst like Sunday can help right the ship.
The Phillies begin a three-game stint in Miami on Monday. Zack Wheeler and Tyler Phillips are slated as the probable starters.
