76ers Win Big in Their Home Opener, Game 3 Analysis

The 76ers won big against the Portland Trailblazers tonight 126-98 in their home opener after an amazing second half outscoring the Blazers 60-38. The stars of the show for the Sixers were Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey.

Joel Embiid put up an MVP performance in tonight’s game tallying 35 points on 12/22 shooting including 2/4 on threes, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, and 6 blocks. Tyrese Maxey had another all-star caliber game with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Tobias Harris stayed hot to start the season tonight while having 24 points on 8/11 shooting in tonight’s contest.

The other Sixers contributing to tonight’s win on the offensive side of the ball were Kelly Oubre Jr. who had 12 points with some great defensive highlights and De’Anthony Melton who also had 12 points. A player that really stood out on defense tonight was Patrick Beverley who had a steal and 3 blocks. The Sixers tonight tallied 17 blocks and really showed out on defense.

The contributors for the Blazers tonight were Jerami Grant, Shaedon Sharpe, and Reigning Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon. Jerami Grant had 17 points on 5/16 shooting. Shaedon Sharpe was the leading scorer for the Blazers tonight having 20 points on 7/13 shooting including 2/4 on threes. Malcolm Brogdon had 18 points on 7/16 shooting.

Other members of the Blazers with double figure points included rookie Toumani Camara and Jabari Walker. Both having 12 points on the night.

Sixers really had a strong showing tonight and made great adjustments in the second half to be able to destroy the Blazers on the second night of a back-to-back with their next game being on Thursday so now they are given time to rest.

Tonight’s Notes!

Kelly Oubre is so athletic and makes some incredible plays defensively and on put back layups or dunks.

The 2-man game between Tyrese Maxey and Embiid is incredible.

Patrick Beverley once again is showing his role on the team with his defense.

Tobias Harris is having a great start to the season being very efficient.

The Sixers defense in the 2nd Half of tonight’s game was amazing.

Jaden Springer is a defensive freak.
