The Philadelphia 76ers had a very strong showing tonight as they took down the Toronto Raptors 114-107. They showed much improvement tonight on free throw shooting and shot 50% from the field and 36% from 3.

The stars of the show in tonight’s game were the dynamic duo of Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid both having 34 points. Joel Embiid had a great game shooting 67% from the field on 14/21 shooting and shot 5/6 from the free throw line and he also had an additional 8 assists and 9 rebounds. Tyrese Maxey was on fire tonight shooting 60% from the field on 2-20 shot attempts and 7/9 on 3 pointers which all were after the first quarter because he was silent in the first but had all of his 34 points from the 2nd quarter onward.

The rest of the Sixers in double digits were Kelly Oubre and Tobias Harris. Tobias Harris had 15 points on 4/10 shooting with an additional 2 assists and 2 rebounds. Kelly Oubre had 18 points on 7/17 shooting with an additional 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.

The Raptors star tonight was Scottie Barnes who had 24 points on 11/16 shooting with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Other contributors included Dennis Schroder who had 15 points and 10 assists, Gradey Dick who had 16 points and Gary Trent Jr. who had 17 points.

The Sixers really turned it up in the 3rd quarter of tonight’s game outscoring the Raptors 35-20 after being down by 3 at halftime with Tyrese Maxey being on fire from 3 in that quarter. From there, they were able to hold on to the lead and got the first win under new head coach Nick Nurse against the team he last coached for.

My notes on tonight’s game!

Joel Embiid’s developed pass vision was really showed tonight with 9 assists as he had 2 great one’s on very nice back door cuts to Kelly Oubre whose defender went over to help on Embiid.

Tyrese Maxey was on fire tonight from 3 and he was really aggressive which led to the Sixers victory.

Kelly Oubre’s off ball movement in tonight’s game was very good and he was very aggressive on drives which led to many points.

Patrick Beverly’s hustle led to multiple second chance points because he had 3 offensive rebounds and I really liked what I saw from him tonight even though he only had 2 points.

Tobias Harris has been very good this season offensively and I believe he should be more aggressive as when he contributes the Sixers look much better.

That’s all on this game, The Sixers next game is tomorrow night versus the Portland Trailblazers for the home opener at 7:30PM on NBC Sports Philadelphia!
